Melodías al Corazón

This is an end-of-internship project that highlights the instructions and training that were provided during the Englert Theater Arts Admin Internship. We explored the works of running a non-profit and for-profit organization, attended private tours of Iowa City-based venues, and had closed group sessions regarding marketing/ branding, community engagement, budgeting, and more for the Englert Theater.

For my final project, I presented the Melodías al Corazón pitch containing a music poster design, my design process, and mockup website to the Englert for future designer consideration.

Project Goal:

Develop a branding project for a (hypothetical) music festival.

 

About the Festival:

Melodías al Corazón is a vibrant music festival celebrating the soulful blend of jazz, R&B, and Hispanic folklore. Featuring an exciting lineup of both renowned performers and emerging artists, this event brings together diverse sounds, cultures, and communities for an unforgettable musical experience.

 

Branding Concept:

Melodías al Corazón is a name that highlights the intimate connection of music to a listener. For branding, I decided on flowers that branch the florist symbolism of lilies of the valley (return to happiness) and sunflowers' symbol for strength to describe the lyricism of the show's artists. 

The branding is based on red-wine and nature themes. The red tones highlight a "red-wine talk" and jazz bar idea while the yellows act as a contrast to highlight the vibrance of the musicians.
