This short animation was an introductory to animating hand-drawn vector pieces in After Effects. Written by myself and narrated by my grandmother Betty, it is a

spoken-word inspired piece about African American cuisine -- Soul Food.

I decided to have a charcoal-based background to contrast the vibrancy of the food as that is what gives life and soul to a scene. 

​

Lastly, I added real recordings from our yearly family reunions and trips to the background for additional ambiance!
